This is a photo of me and Grace in Copenhagen. We have been friends since 7th grade and it was insane that I was able to visit her for the weekend in Copenhagen. She is someone that I care a lot about and will always have a great time with no matter what. She’s such a great person, inside and out.
So the grocery store has been closed for FOUR DAYS NOW due to Sunday and the recent festivals, but had I known that they would be closing for the apocalypse, I would’ve stocked up on food days ago. So that leaves me and Kaitlyn with a few slices of bread, nutella and soup. Well I guess we used to have soup…
Earlier this evening, Kaitlyn made a whole new pot of soup for us to have over the next few days. When I went to the kitchen to have some then clean up, the pot was gone. We discovered that some of our roommates took it upon themselves to throw away our entire pot of soup. They also left notes saying to clean. Well Kaitlyn did not take it very well, so she decided to write them a note. Here’s the note translated into english:
EVERYONE: I agree that everyone needs to clean after they use the kitchen. I don’t know who threw away our soup in the trash BUT THAT IS RIDICULOUS. When I cook, I ALWAYS clean up after including my plates in the kitchen. Yes, sometimes it takes me a while to put away my food but I ALWAYS clean it up. I understand that sometimes you are mad or frustrated but if my food is in your space, MOVE IT! OR ASK ME TO MOVE IT! DO NOT TOUCH MY FOOD!!! Please don’t throw away our stuff another time. We assure you that we always clean up after we use the kitchen. I think that everyone needs to clean after themselves a little better including their plates AND the counter tops. Pardon me if I offended anyone. - Kaitlyn and Lauren

Soup Incident 2012: Never Forget.
Mi Vida en España...: I really just could not be more happy/content with life.
I don’t know what I have done to deserve it but everything seems to be going my way over the course of this semester. It really just makes me appreciate everything I have and consistently want to smack myself to wake up from this dream.
Take today for example, throughout the course of the day I was able to go to see The Avengers, which was great. I was also able to buy my Copenhagen tickets to go visit one of my best friends and favorite people in the world, Grace (and it just so happens that I can visit her and see Natalia in Madrid over the same weekend) AND I found out by chance that two of my favorite artists were going to be playing a festival in Portugal when I was thinking of going there. No big deal. Just one nugget of happiness after the next.
I honestly don’t know why I was considered lucky enough to come over here to Europe but it honestly has left me on cloud nine. Everything I want to do seems like a possibility. Do I have an unlimited amount of money? No. Did I try my hardest to save up on money before I got here? Yes. Money is just one factor in it all because like I’ve said before, I would not be here without my parents. They have done so much for me to make this a possibility and I appreciate it so much. I never want it to end, I never want to have to leave and be forced to return back to the real world because this experience has been like no other.
I love life and for some reason, life is loving me an awful lot too.

So apparently both Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen are playing a music festival in Lisboa, Portugal. THE VERY SAME WEEKEND THAT I WAS PLANNING ON GOING THERE.
I must buy tickets, this is just too perfect.

I don’t really like to be the complaining type but there is some complaining that I must do…
I am currently spending my spring semester of my junior year thousands of miles from home in Madrid, Spain. I know that it is not a super rare event, every semester people travel abroad but I guess I would think that some people would care just a little bit more than they do. But apparently that is just too much to expect. After all, why would some of the people I call “my closest friends” give a rat’s ass how I’m doing while abroad? Naturally, I should be the one who has to try to communicate with them, despite the fact that I am living 6-hours ahead of them in time. That all just makes perfect sense. It makes perfect sense that almost complete strangers may be more curious about my time and adventures while abroad.
After all, that’s how it’s supposed to be right? Good, I’m glad that everything is running smoothly in that respect and thus, everything is just peachy in this regard.
